In response to shocking murder of Sarah Everard, who was simply walking home alone.
Mornings like these make us need to pause and reflect.
As a Man, I just want to acknowledge that all women have the right to:
If they wish (Or have no choice but to sometimes) To walk home in the dark Down any isolated and shady place Dressed in a bikini if they wish to And be a little bit tipsy Or blind drunk really Then meet anybody if they wish to And decide to take them back to their place And get naked And then decide Actually “I want to stop now” Without any reason given Just because They want to
And a 'Real Man'? Will say “That’s okay” “Shall we watch a movie? Or would you like me to leave?”
It really is that simple.
Because a 'Real Man' IS ALWAYS IN CONTROL OF HIMSELF
Because a 'Real Man', KNOWS HIMSELF
Knows his limits Knows his weaknesses Knows that If he is not ‘In Control Of His Penis’ when he is drunk Or ‘In Control Of His Ego’ when he is drunk Then he drinks alone In his house With the door locked if necessary.
It is that simple.
MEN. KNOW YOURSELF.
We all have a Beast within us We don’t ignore the Beast Nor do we feed the Beast We acknowledge the Beast exists, We recognise it is part of the human condition It is Our Responsibility Instead, we take from the Beast The strength, drive and ambition that are part of this human condition And channel them Towards the pursuit of Care, Compassion and Love
And upholding the Rights of Women
Now that Is a ‘Real Man’
